Michele De Lucchi's pedestrian Bridge of Peace got a little bit too dominant next to the old center. For the moment it is hard to figure out what this bridge should connect, but there is still construction going on. De Lucchi seems to be Saakashvili’s regular supplier. He also designed the new building for the interiour ministry and did the interiour design of the new President's Palace, that seems like a mix between the White House in Washington and the German Reichstag, scaled down. At least the glass dome is lit in the night as is the roof of the bridge. Exact cost for both buildings are not communicated and many Georgians think that the money could have found better use.
